Magnetic drain plug

I used to run a fleet of semi trucks and all of them had this in them. (oil pan/differentials) Just wondering if anyone was using something like this? Seems like cheap insurance as I know, even with new motors, there is always some fine metal floating around in there. I suppose the filter should catch most/all of it but every time we would change the oil in one of the trucks, there would always be some fine metal on the plug. Especially on the differential drain plugs!

Maybe this would be better suited just for the differentials? Thoughts?

BTW: The photo is just for reference...I'm not sure of the actual size/s needed for a Viking?

M-N-T,my Nissan truck has these on everything, never found much on the engine plug but the diff's and transfer case have always had some very fine metal on them,For sure it wouldn't hurt a thing to run em and see what the other ones are missing, could start with one and see if it's worth installing on all, really surprised Yamaha doesn't use these every Jap vehicle i've owned has had them.My 2 cents.
