Were is everyone putting your winch contactor on the eps viking models.
The warn directions are as clear as mud. and tell to put it on the passenger side of the battery compartment under the hood.
But there is little to no room there.
Where have other people put them on the eps models?
Thanks for any help or photos in advance. Rapidrobert...

Welcome to the site, there's a few members on here with Power steering and winches, so you should get your question anwsered soon.
Btt

I know we have folks on here that know this!!
Got most of the winch installed yesterday all bolted up and th main power cables run from winch to battery area.
will be wiring up controls tonight and the last the contactor and main battery connections.
It looks like I may be making a bracket to hold the contactor so it can be easily removed to get to the battery.
I will be posting pictures when I finish it all up. Rapidrobert...

How will you be making the bracket? Any process that involves typical household tools?

Can't wait to see those pictures.
Good luck with the rest of the install, look foward to the pics.
Here's what I did for my contactor. I took a flat piece of 1/8 aluminum plate and bolted it to the radiator bracket. it worked out real well. I installed everything then bolted the bracket back on holding the radiator. Hope that helps..

installing contactor box

I installed the contactor box on the outside of the glove box. I have an additional box for the wireless remote (Viper winch) secured inside the glove box. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all of the info on the winch installs. Rapidrobert
Does the EPS models not have enough room under the hood by the batter? Mine's not EPS, but here's a pic anyway.

I ended up making a lexan bracket and was able to mount the contactor above the battery.
I will also post photos in the gallery.
Thanks for all the input on the winch install.

Can you(or anyone) tell me the easiest way to find a hot wire(when switch is on) to splice in the wires for the winch switches. What location should I cut into the wire bundle that is easiest to get to to find the hot wire?
If you look up high in the dash from the passenger wheel well you will see an used plug sitting behind the display. I used this connection that way the connection is nice and high and out of harms way. If you you search the forum I posted pictures of my install of a Viper Winch

I also mounted on radiator bracket, looks good and easy to access if necessary. Didn't want to take up space in glove box
Well, there must instructions from WARN or Yamaha itself when the dealer installs the Yamaha Winches. The dealer should have a .pdf file or print out on how to install a winch, properly on the Viking, I would think...
Wanted to share some pictures of the installation of my Superwinch Terra 45 4500lb winch on my new Viking. The posts on this forum were very helpful and gave me some good ideas. I elected to go with using the glove box for my contractor and did some slight mods "under the hood" to make room for the circuit breaker. The toughest part of the whole thing was installing the winch mount itself. The kfi winch mount fit but I had to drill holes for this particular winch even though it fit not all four holes matched up. The other issue was the wires that connect to the battery were not the right size to fit over the screws at the battery terminal. They needed drilled out as well to get them to fit. Hope this helps somebody. As soon as I figure out how to post pics to this message I will...
