He is talking about the hill climb. To me that looked like a driver issue. Driver lost momentum because he nosed the viking into the hillside.

Yep, the driver is NOT good at all. That hill was easy to make.. He basically kept landing in the middle of the hill and killing all of his momentom, which is like almost starting off in the middle of the hill.

Looks like a lot of fun, but it does show that the Viking isn't the most off-road capable of the bunch. In its defense, the Viking is supposed to be more of a jack-of-all-trades instead of an ATV.

Do you think that with a few mods you could beef up the Viking a bit to keep up better with its rivals?

I switched from a RZR XP900le and the Viking is no where near it in power, handling and suspension...not even close!!!!Polaris did well in that part of the design...but I chose the Viking for its reliability (that I hope it will deliver) the interior room and bed size! I simply wanted a bulletproof and practical machine that I can Trail ride for fun. I suspect Yamaha will stand behind there machines far better than Polaris does and the build quality seems way better on the Viking.

and they shouldn't be close as they are 2 very different machines. 77hp to 49hp. Big difference.

I think you need to look at the video some more. The Rhino went up the same hill with no problem and the Viking is better all around then the Rhino... The Viking has 10 more hp and way more tq... If you have not driven a Viking, I suggest you do it.

Like I said.... the driver of the video is not much of a driver...

I think we sometimes forget the point you made and think the Big V should do it all. Not it's intention when built.

My wife's SUV cannot complete in power, handling and suspension with my corvette either, but it takes more people and can carry a lot of cargo.

The Viking hits the hill wrong, basically stops and is spinning the tires getting stuck. What does that have to do with needing more power, or less capable? Nothing. To me, this video shows nothing, other than a few guys out on their SxS's having fun. The Viking is just as capable, if not, more so than the others in this video.
