Tracks worth the change $$

Just curious if $5400 is worth it for a set of tracks. I ice fish and hunt every chance I get, and feel they would be an awesome tool. But for a hefty price to pay. Looking at the camso 4s1 set if anyone has any experience or input. Thanks.

There is no doubt tracks are cool but there are a lot of other things I would personally spend that much on. If you must drive your viking every day in snow too deep for tires then you need them.

If they are cool and might be useful (get you where tires will not) 15 days a year then probably not.

It is what I tell my wife. Separate want from need, then decide.
get a viking sled for less, then you'd have all seasons covered by the Viking series
For short term use, they would be ok, but over the long term probably not so much.

You will need clutch work, and they will cause extreme wear on suspension components.

If it were me and in your situation, I would probably consider a snow machine
i ran tracks on my kubota 900.the biggest issue was breaking the anti rotation bars .they do put more stress on the suspension and slow you down quite a bit.they also throw lots of snow and a cab is is about the only way to keep it out,i still have my tracks ,but haven't bought the conversion kit for the viking as it requires an extension on blade for plowing snow.

Thanks for the info guys! I was on the fence for sure about them. For that kind of price for weekend use in the winter I was thinking the same. Maybe I can find a better sled and save some cash.
Thinking about it now. I’m not even sure it would fit in my trailer. My vi is king the ways it is, now add tracks and extra width.

i think they make your machine about a foot wider.

Nice machine, and that diesel and hydrostatic trans will have no issues with tracks!
I was more worried about length. The width I think would be fine. They look like they make it quite longer.
Drive on tracks.

Drive on tracks.

i looked into these and the price scared me away.
I just ordered a new set of X4S tracks. Got stuck on the lake and almost had a heart attack digging it out. These are a little smaller than the 4S1 and a little less expensive. Will handle up to 2 1/2 feet of snow. I use it to ice fish and pull my shack on and off the ice. Will let you know if they are worth it. Here you can't buy a sled for under $3500.

Post pics when u get them.
The guy said I wouldn’t get away with those for my vi because of its weight. I’d be interested in buying the x4s especially for that price.
If you go to the Camso website, they tell you max 3 seater and 700cc which includes the Viking. Only thing is if you are in more than 2 1/2 ft of snow you will get stuck. I'm thinking powder. We don't get that much snow here so they should work. They are made to be able to transfer to atv's as well. They are a wee bit narrower than the 4S1's.
I am going to be working on a youtube vidio on installation for the average joe. See if I can do it in 2 hr like they say. Will let you know. Flatlander Mike is the account.

Mine is a 6 seater. But I’d be willing to give it a try to save some cash. I have 11” wide tires coming for the front now. Should help stay on top of the harder snow on the lake better than stock. I’m with you. I pull my ice shack out along with duck blinds. Tracks are high on the want list.

Any luck on getting the tracks in yet? I’m sure they are a few weeks out to ship.
I called today and they look like they are in Regina. Maybe tomorrow or Monday. They have to come by truck. Did you see my Youtube vid about enclosing the cab? First video and a lot to learn.
