My daughter wanted a Viking 3 to use on her farm but didn't want/ afford to buy a new one. I have a 2019 Viking that we use on our farm so I reluctently told her, why don't you just take mine and I will get a new one. In 2019, I paid 13k for a regular EPS model with RealTree Camo and a warn winch. Went to same dealership where I bought mine and found it to be under new ownership. They informed me how hard it was going to be to get a new one as they have had only 1 Viking 3 delivered to them in the past 2 years. Anyway, they said they were expecting one in November and if I wanted it, I had better put a deposit on it. So, I did, well November, turned into Dec which turned into January and finally on Feb 1st they called and said there 1 and only Viking had arrived. It was a Ranch edition with a price tag of 16,399 plus freight and setup. No discounts, no bargining, that was the price. So after adding a winch, the out the door price came to 18.7k. I could see the price difference if something was added or improved on the machine, but it is basically the same machine since 2014. Dealership did not even put any gas in the machine. Told me, if I did not want it, he has 6 other people willing to buy it. No Yamaha hat, t-shirt or even a key chain. Sorry for the general rant but Yamaha and their dealerships are really taking advantage of us. My 2019 was a great machine so hopefully this new one will be the same. What we do for our kids!

Yah you can thank the Chinese pandemic for all the shortages and price gouging going on. It's not just Yamaha, it's anything with a computer chip and eggs, ammo, Biden inflation, etc.

More like the incompetent way our governments handled the supposed "pandemic". We are paying for that fk up now...

“No discounts, no bargining, that was the price.” Yep my experience too. After talking to several dealerships to get the lay of the land and then monitoring dealer inventory on the Yamaha website for awhile, it was clear it was going to take patience and the dealer had the upper hand. When I finally got mine the guy at the dealership told me he could sell one a week if Yamaha would ever give them to him. Instead he hadn’t seen one in 2 years. I put the deposit down for mine before the sales guy knew they even had it — it was still on the truck.

I will say they at least filled the gas tank for me, and they delivered it for a reasonable charge. I also did not have the pain of having purchased the same thing for that much less just a few years ago. Lucky kid you’ve got!
