Tail Light replacement

16595 Views 25 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  cactus
Due to a recent incident ( 14 stitch's and 5 staple's to the head during a roll over). I am in need to replace my right rear tail light assembly.

Any suggestions to where the cheapest replacement would be?

Thanks.....QA ( I'm O.K and suffered very little Drain Bamage)

How'd it happen QA? Did it go over easier than what it should've do you think? Glad you're ok.
A few members have switched out for LED lights. Maybe one of them would be interested in selling their stock one(s). Just a thought. Glad you're ok! Did the viking survive the roll ok, other than the light? Would you have expected more, or less damage?
Glad your alright QA, hows the Viking other than the taillight?

I switched to the LED tails shortly after getting my Viking, and i sold my stock red ones to Vikingss212 cause he had a broke tail light.

Check Rocky Mtn atv, they have them i believe in the OEM parts section:

OEM Parts and OEM Motorcycle Parts for Dirt Bikes, ATVs and UTVs | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

$45.99 for the whole light, they show to have 7 in stock, or you can get just the lens i believe. For the whole assy part #5KM-84710-00-00

In that link above, just click on the drop down list there, and scroll down to Taillight
Hope its not to soon but think we need pictures! Glad your going live.
Thanks all.

To make a long story short, the guide wires on electrical pole's are hard to see at night. I was clipping along my back field and dead centered the wire. Turned the "V" about 540 degrees and laid it on the side. Only damage was right rear tail light and a 3" stress crack on the roof. ( Silicone back into service).

I can say, thank God for the roll bar. It did knock me out and sent me to the ER. It's just a reminder of how quickly things can happen. I have since marked ALL guide wires with reflective tape for piece of mind.

If this would have been a 4-wheeler I may not be typing this response.

I will post a few pics of my head later.

Wow, yeah that's scary, if I had something like that happen, I'd be shopping for a helmet!!
Wow glad it turned out as good as what it did for the circumstances, and your right, good thing u weren't on a regular 4 wheeler, would have been a different story I'm thinking

sorry to hear that u wrecked. but glad to hear that your somewhat ok. your right on how quickly bad things can happen. was riding yestrday and a girl decided to hop on one guys three wheeler and ride it. shes never ridden one before and didnt know where the brakes were and tried to stop with her feet. ended up smashing into another guys sxs, ran over her foot, twisted and hurt her knee and probably broke her foot and ankle

There is NO doubt a helmet would have reduced, if not eliminated any physical contusions. The main culprit was the overhead gun rack, wearing the set belt would have stopped it all together.

I do not judge anyone if they do or don't use them. I will at the very least use the set-belt from now on.

Yeah I agree entirely, never wore the seat belts until the kids flipped ours and got thrown out, now I put them on if I'm going to be riding fast or on anything hilly.

I 've got some fast forest tracks here that I fly along sometimes and I think it would be a disaster if someone came the other way for example and I had to hit the brakes hard and go into the bush, you could be thrown out and pinned against a tree or under the Viking. Or even just pinned under it you may not be hurt but you sure wouldn't be able to breathe, and they are a bit too heavy for someone to be able to push back off you quickly...
