Been hunting this weekend and noticed that I hear squeaking from the front tires. I know the Viking has metalic break pads but is there something I can do to stop it? It's driving me crazy! It's not all the time, just periodically and not only at stopping. Is there some kind of graphite or something else I can use?

Thanks

I KNOW what you mean, i hate it aswell!!!!

I was talking to the tech at the other day at the dealer, and he said to buy the cheapest softest pads you could get, he said they woulnd last long, but it would help alot on the squeaking or stop it all together. With the engine braking on the Viking the brakes are not used much anyways. The Rhino's are the same way, we test drove one before we put money down on the Viking, it had the same annoying squeaking.

Has any one tried a automotive brake pad paste. When I worked at a motorcycle shop in the 80's we used that product to help quiet down brake squeal.
I seem to remember that when you bought metalic(SP) you got some kind of stuff to put on them? It's embarassing as **** to show folk's your new rig and it squeaks like a cheap POS!

LMAO, that is funny, and so sad and true!!!!

I feel so bad rolling down the road in my new Viking and even over the loud engine, i can still hear SQUEAK........SQUEAK...SQUEAK!!!! I really dislike it.

When it new, it was just the front drivers side, not they all kinda do it.

I dont understand what the deal is with them, seems like Yamaha would understand this by now, and change to something diffrent that didnt make your new ride sound like a POS. Ive already been though a new ride that sounded like a cheap POS, and that was new Polaris Ranger i got off the showroom floor with the most annoying sounding Vibrating bed that had so many rattles/buzzes in it, that is was unbearable to drive at times. I couldnt believe Polaris sold it sounding like that!!!, We worked on the bed up till we sold it, to get it quieter.. The Viking would be perfect, except for the brakes, theres no other annoyng sounds.ERRRRRRRRRRRRR

Mine dont it to bad anymore, best thing to do, is when your rolling 20mph or so, ride the brakes for awhile, helps alot.

I agree... Yamaha should have a recall on the brake pads and replace them with something that does not squeak for free... Everyone that rides with us comments on the squeaky brakes... When I take it to the shop for first oil change etc. I am going to have a discussion with the dealer...
Yamaha has a great reputation for quality and this issue should not have made it out the door from the factory... None of the other UTV's that I we ride with seem to have a similar issue so there must be a resolve to the problem...

I test drove a new 2013 Black Rhino, it did the same exact thing, so im guessing Yamaha isn't to concerned about it.
