My 2016 Viking suddenly won’t go past 28 mph- any ideas why?

Is rev limiter kicking in? Are you in low or high gear? Has CVT been serviced lately? What have you checked? Need more details.

CVT HAS BEEN SERVICED AND EVEN SWAPPED WITH A KNOWN GOOD ONE.ALSO SWAPPED CDI BOX,SPEED SENSOR WITH KNOWN GOOD ONES. YES IT HITS THE REV LIMITER.WHAT AM I MISSING?
Is the seatbelt connected? (This activates rev limiter) Your using high gear?
Also if one or more of the primary weights moved out of their channel during reassembly of the primary clutch you will get this problem.

Nah he's getting 28mph so either he's in low range or he's got a flopped weight as Sport said.

Seat belt connected. Definitely in high range.drove it again today, going28 down the road, let off on the throttle and speedo goes to zero immediately, slip it into neutral and speedo comes back to correct speed again!when in high range and you slow down to a stop, the motor dies and is hard to restart. Otherwise motor starts and idles fine in the garage.any idea’s what to check?

The speed sensor is faulty or possibly even the middle gear is failing?
Is it going faster then 28 and only reading 28?
