Primary or secondary clutch issue?

I have a 2016 Viking. 4000 KMS. Initial start off is good up to about 25km speed. Then when u step on the gas the engine revs up but it doesn’t speed up. It revs up and after a bit then the it seems to grab and speed up. Seems like one of the clutches stick and then finally releases. I’ve had both clutches off and regreased and they seem fine. I don’t think it’s the wet clutch because it will skid the front tires with the brakes on so it shouldn’t be slipping after it’s engaged. Anybody have an issue like this ? Thx for the help/ ideas

Did it do it before you serviced the clutches?

Yup that’s why I pulled them.
Did you service everything to yamaha specs? Such as grease in the primary and secondary? Did you spec the belt?

Sounds to me like the secondary sheave is binding up. Did you remove the spring form it when you greased it? This is the only way to grease it properly. What grease did you use? Tinkseal is best (not required) and it is highly recommended that slippery washers be added when spring is off to help eliminate binding.
Also if you go back in there make sure none of your primary weights haven’t come out of their channels and the sliders are not worn.

What does this mean?
