I have not yet purchased a side by side but am thinking seriously about a Viking. My hobby is helping my friend manage his beautiful 8000 acre ranch in central Utah. The ranch is surrounded by the spectacular Fish Lake National Forest and is loaded with Deer and Elk, especially Elk. I manage the hunting, post fences, patrol boundaries and of course, hunt and fish.

I have two Yamaha Grizzly ATVs. I have loved them. Very reliable. Love the power steering. I have thought about a side by side for sometime but wanted a Yamaha. But, I went on a guided hunt 2 years ago and rode around in a Rhino. I was not impressed, especially with the clearance. On a guided hunt last year I rode around in a Polaris Ranger that I thought outperformed the Rhino hands down.

So, when I heard Yamaha was making a new side by side I was excited. I have joined this forum to find out how people are liking their Vikings, especially when compared to the competition. I have seen Yamaha's comparison of the Viking with the Polaris Ranger 800. I would love to see Polaris' response.

So, I look forward to reading everything I can about your experience with the Viking. If my investigation goes well I plan on buying before March 1. 2014

welcome aboard, to both of you!

most comparos will have the Viking hanging with or toppling the ranger, plus you get an extra seat.

Compared to the Rhino...well just ask around ;)
I am new here as well. I have read all of the posts here and have indeed learned a lot toward my final decision. My side by side needed to have a fully enclosed cab and I found a nice wind shield with canvas enclosure as well as a fully enclosed hard enclosure with great visability. I also needed a plow and I found needed links here for that.

I like the all wheel engine braking and have used engine braking on two quads I own. I work my rigs in pretty steep terrain and wonder if any other manufactor offers a SXS with all 4 wheel engine braking?

Posts here report a pretty noisy cab when running. My hearing now days sucks so I guess that is a problem. Does anyone know if the other makers of SXS have the same noise problems?

Motoalliance was a nice find for me on this website and it seems they cater to this forum. I plan on ordering a plow, heater and winch from them if they have good customer service. Does anyone here report problems with any customer service issue?

Thanks to those that have posted here from first hand knowledge. When I purchase I will do the same. Thanks Terry

I bought the plow, push tubes, and viking plow mount from MotoAlliance. They are very knowledgeable and they strive to give the best customer service possible. They make a very nice product and so far I am very happy with it. I've talked with the owner on this web site a few times and I have been very impressed with them.
Ive never had any of there prodcuts, but from years of being on forums, and reading people talking about MotoAlliance, ive heard nothing but good things, and how TOP NOTCH there Custer Service was.
