Sorry for some reason it did not post what I typed out!

Hey guys went riding on Saturday to a new park that was just a sloppy mud bog park and had a blast-Viking ran great-no problems other than a clogged radiator that I hosed off at the park-brought it home and parked in the garage. I tried to start it Monday night so I could power wash it and all it would do was crank and crank. I then proceeded to pull the front hood off and it was packed with mud that started to dry-you could not see the battery at all so I pushed it out the garage and power washed to get it clean so I can work on it-after cleaning it I pulled the computer up front so everything can dry out-checked all fuses and there good. If I leave the computer unhooked I get the gauges to work but if I hook it up the the gauges do not work except for the bluish backlit display. Also I do not here the fuel pump kick in at all? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Check battery voltage, a weak battery can cause strange issues. Also look for a ground wire that could have became loose or broke .
And if water happened to get into the computer ports, possibly burned it out.

Check fuel pump fuse of course, maybe direct wire the pump to see if it runs and then starts?

X-2 start at the fuses and relays first.

Start with the basics bud. Fire, fuel. If you got no fire back track from there... Got think about it. No spark is it a plug? Check if not cdi?? If not check upstream. But always start with fuses. Make sure you got 12+ volts on each side don't just pull them and look check power on both sides with key on. If no power why? What powers it? Acc of key switch should. If good on fuses etc might start checking power on ECM etc.

oddly enough mine did the same thing......I had my buddy over...who is also the local Yamaha mechanic to do the first service on the Viking.....worked great that night.....went to start it up the next morning for a big run and it just rolled and rolled and rolled.....held the gas pedal on a bit and it sputtered to life.......ran really badly when it started too and ran that way for a few minutes and it eventually settled out.....never did it again

I had one of the relays on a 450 Rhino short out after the battery box lid had fallen off and the electrical box had filled with mud and water. Real issue on the older units since the compartment is on the left side and the tire will fill it up. You might switch a few relays around as you are checking wires, etc.

There used to be a Yamaha service manual that could be downloaded floating around on the forum also.

Viking was cranking but not starting.. noticed a fuse blown. Put new battery in and replaced every fuse. After that viking started and idled for about 3-5 seconds then died. Tried to restart and did not hear fuel pump. The same fuse blew again. Replaced it and same occurrence with fuse blowing 3-5 seconds and again and again.

Was hoping someone has had a similar experience with some solutions. Next im pulling fuel pump to make sure its filter is not plugged.

Have a 2014 Viking that has compression spark and fuel but won’t run Even tried some starting fluid and it won’t fire … any help on this issue
What’s the history leading up to this? When did it start happening? Does it crank over normal? Have you tried a different battery?

Try a new spark plug, sometimes they fire when out but won't fire when under compression.
