Mice entered under hood air intake - Problem solved

Imagine popping the hood cover and finding a 3 foot copperhead coiled above the air intake opening. (Photo) Did annual maintenance and found 2 dead mice in filter box. Snake evidently smelled them and nest and was in wait. Solution was first kill the no-shoulder and simple sink plumbers auger to clear the nest in the intake tube. See photos before and after for custom wire mesh guard for intake opening. Also squeezed a pack of “Fresh Cab“ behind battery to deter wire nipples. Have read a lot of threads on having to remove floorboard to access and clean intake tube front of filter. Sink auger works and verified by Depstech wireless endoscope camera. Led lighted snake camera that plays to your phone screen. Use it all the time for hard to see areas. Amazon $42.99 and must for mechanics. Don’t know why UTV manufacturers do not provided OEM critter guards for air intakes.
