Is the Viking really worth what Yamaha is selling it for or is there a better bang for your buck side by side out their at the moment?

I've been reading some mixed reviews on it, more positive than negative.

Well it depends what you want a Viking for... The Polaris Ranger is a towing/payload beast while the Can-Ams are built for speed. While the Pioneer has more seating capacity. You can even get a 6 seater Ranger, or a 6x6....

Are you in it for work or play?

One of the biggest pluses that I have been reading about the Viking is its ability to carry 3 people side-by-side comfortably. Even if the Viking is aimed at being more for work than play, the fact that you can fit people in it more comfortably will really appeal to those who want to use it for just for fun.

does that mean the Viking is wider than the Rhino?

Its not any wider. The seats are separate, not benched. And the middle seat is slightly off-set to the rear. This allows for more shoulder room for all three occupants. There is also a hand hold for all three passengers.

that's a good amount wider, 5 inches. makes sense since the Viking is a 3 seater, i was actually expecting it to be a bit wider than that.
the Viking is wide enough to not fit in a pickup bed... SO theres that, I know alot of guys who truck their SxS in their pickup beds, wonder if this is going to impact sales at all. Most guys will have to get either a rack that sits on top of the bed or a separate trailer, which will need another couple grand in spending.

an $11k Viking quickly turns into a $15k Viking just because it wont fit in a pickup bed

you can get cheap trailers online that'll fit the viking. you don't need to spend a couple of grand...

The Viking has its smart features over the competition. Just look in the video section for some of the official Viking videos. Lots of reasons that Yamaha brings up as pros for the Viking vs the competition.
