Hello all. I have been creeping around reading and gathering info. Seems to be a helpful place with good guys. I am currently an unhappy owner of a Rzr 800. The Rzr is in the shop getting a new motor @ 980 miles. When it get out its going on CL. I already have my 2014 green non eps Viking picked out set up and waiting. The boss lady won't let me pick it up till the Rzr is gone. I look forward to spending some time on here and more behind the wheel of the viking.

Welcome from sunny, 91 degrees today, California.

deerboner  Good one! :D
Welcome to the site!!!!! I really dislike Polaris!!
Mass I'm a large fella 91 degrees sounds sweaty. Viking I had a Kodiak and a grizz loved them but traded for a God bless the USA Polaris and have had nothing but problems. The $4200 motor was the stick that broke the camels back for me.

Welcome....What was the conclusion on the RZR motor?
Yep, up till 2010 I had nothing but Yamahas, no issues. Then we wanted a sxs, I wanted to stick with Yamaha, but rhino was to small. So gave Polaris a try, got a new Ranger 500 off showroom floor. It had an issue from the first test drive, close to 10 trips between 2 dealers, issue was never fixed. Sold it soon as I heard about the Viking.
Broke the crank in half. Broke push rod. Broke off half of #1 cylinder wall. #2 piston was hosed. Service tech said it was an oil issue. Had 47 hrs on oil change. He said "book calls for 50 hrs but truthfully you should change it @25 hrs"

I also owned several Kodiaks and then Grizzlies, and the Viking is my first SxS. Over the years I have become a part of a pretty good group of Hunters/Campers. At one time there was somewhere around 15 of us, and all had an atv or utv of some sorts. I can easily say that if anyone had an issue or breakdown, the majority of the time it was usually a brand other than the Yamahas. I can also say that most of the serious (end your day) issues happened to the Ranger's.
Breakdowns can happen with any machine but....I think the odds will be much more in your favor with a Viking.

What kind of riding do you do?
Welcome deerboner. It is 17 degrees here. I agree 91 sounds sweaty (big man also)

How many times have the rest of you had a conversation with someone...and heard something totally different than what was coming out of their mouth

I can SOOOOO relate to this!!! :D

LMAO!
Mass once a month a group of us go to Wayne national and trail ride but nothing crazy. Other than that I use it for hunting which the Rzr is to small for, and working on our property.

Sounds like the Viking is MUCH better suited for what you will be doing.
I thought you had to have a UTV or ATV under 50 inches wide to ride at wayne national!

Thats what i heard to, talking to the dumbazz polaris dealers around here...They couldn't find there azz if it was handed to them.
That's true the law states 50" but my Rzr was 62" and it fit in most places.

hello from NE Ohio
You will get a monster ticket if your caught in Wayne. They dont look at the rzr's bc alot are 50" but the big Viking will get you popped for sure.

Some were talking about the state widening the allowable width. Up towards new straitesville the new bridges are really wide

I have heard this as well. The UTV market has come a long ways since the Rhino first came out. And all the law suits made them widen those anyways.
