Front tow attachment point

Where do you guys hook a tow strap on the front? Plenty of slots next to the receiver on the rear but not really a great spot on the front for a strap or for hooking the winch line when you double it with a snatch block. Dead center above the winch is a tube a guy could wrap strap around but probably wouldn't take much jerking to bend it.

I use the two very front vertical spars of the frame for a snatch point. The bumper can hold a dead pull ok.
I added the yamaha front reciever hitch under the winch mount plate and have a insert that has a D ring welded to it. I havent used it on the viking yet but had this same set up on my Rhino and worked great.

So the receiver hitch will work with a winch mounted? Some reason I was thinking it was either/or. If this is the case I think we have a winner.

I go 'through' the winch mount and over the native brush guard.

I haven't found a component on the front end strong enough to use for a corner to point placement.

The back is tied independently, so I'm not too concerned about the front moving side to side.

I like those tie downs on your bed rails! Where did you get them?

I usually go around the front support arm ( round bar underneath your front fenders) and back to the trailer.

They are bolt hangers used for climbing... rated at 25Kn or about 5K lbs

Way, way, way more than the fragile bed rails will hold.

Amazon.com : Petzl Coeur Stainless Steel Hanger 10mm : Climbing Equipment : Sports & Outdoors

Get the 10mm size and use with 3/8 bolts from the hardware store.

I've used those tie down spots a few times now.. very useful.

Yes the winch mount will work with the front reciever hitch. And its a standard 2 inch reciever. The bummer is that you will get another winch mount in the kit. But no wire harness. You will need to notch the front skid plate for the receiver hitch but Yamaha was thinking about this and they have embossed a pattern to follow on the back side although I had to cut mine a bit lower to fit correctly.
Well I figured out a system for a tow attachment. On the bottom front of the winch mount there are two bolt holes. I cut a piece of plate, drilled two holes, welded a 3/4" round stock U to it and bolted it under the fairlead in the existing holes with grade 8 7/16" bolts. Should work out great for a tow strap and when doubling the winch line.
