Ok had a previous post but due to a fellow mod and myself disagreeing im going to just repost. I had my front diff go out on me this afternoon. It was while the differential was locked. I am going to call the local dealer monday to get taken care of under warranty. See what happens.

Could we get more info? Pops, bangs, or simply no engagement? The dog clutch and shift fork that engages the 4x4 and then the diff lock is a nice design, but it does have downfalls. Engagement should not not be done under any load, if possible.

It has a horrible screeching noise. And theres no engagement. I always stop before I enter anything that might need the diff lock. I engage it and move back and forth slowly so that it will engage. It wont engage unless in right spot. The light stops flashing when engaged. Never engage 4x4 while spinning or any load.

Sad :( Can't wait to hear what your dealer has to say. Seems like every manufacture has bugs the first year of new model releases. I wanted to run big tires but decided to hold off and see how other people made out first. Rhino's and Grizzly 660's had issues with weak CV shafts the first year of launch. While working at the dealer I seen a couple come back with CV shafts snapped. People running big tires and Diff-Lock seemed to snap them coming out of a mud hole and suddenly getting good grip under heavy throttle. Good luck and I hope Yamaha has the replacement parts to get you back on the trail fast.

Im hopin they get it fixed fast to. Im just thinkin the diffs to small for how heavy these machines are. Its been on its way out for a little while. Not the first time made the noise. Just is constant now and no 4x4. I tell ya I got a sick feeling when it happened lol

Before i order it, there gonna have to give me details on the install, there insructions leave a little to be desired. It shows a photo of a white plug marked as "stock terminal", where you plug a wire from the PS kit into, but it fails to tell you where the plug is located, and i cant find it.

he told me he tried it today and it worked, so he's gonna ride it through the weekend and take it next week instead.
