Folding Safety Glass Windshield

9282 Views 13 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  PS25871
Does anyone make a folding windshield with laminated safety glass for the Viking?? I have the J Strong folding windshield on my rhino and use the folding feature alot with our crazy louisiana weather. The windshield is now very hazy from cleaning mud off after every hunting trip.

Not that im aware of at this time.
I have yet to see one, haven't seen anything like it on the forums.
I emailed Armor Tech to see if they have plans to make one. I will let you know what they say.

Good stuff, keep us posted. Hopefully they're working on one or have plans to

HOLY CRAP! That's a pretty nice setup.

A year from now, most of us will probably be taking off accessories we have now...because the stuff available in 2015 is probably going to be pretty cool!

BUT...WHO CAN WAIT THAT LONG

This is the response I got from Armor Tech. I have a few friends with these on their Rangers and they are very nice.

From Armor Tech:

Thanks for your inquiry about ArmorTech products.
The answer is yes.
We have several new cab components in the works.
The Viking being one of those, is giving us some grief for a couple of reasons.
We built proto roof for this unit, it is larger than the hood of my F350 truck.
This is causing us to look at a couple of 2 piece ideas.
Part 2: All of our other models come with a sliding rear glass.
The Viking having the center headrest extending father back than the other two causes lots of problems there.
We are looking at a solid rear plexi unit that would be pre formed to clear that headrest.

I would like to get some input from a potential customer on this cab.
How many units are you looking for?

Here is the response from Kabiny:

The Yamaha Viking cab kit is not yet available in the US. Our factory in Europe is starting production now and I expect to have some by March.
The back panel is made of 2x hardcoated and UV treated polycarbonate, and the front windshield is tempered and laminated safety glass. The front windshield also has a gas spring assist tip-out function.

Pricing (not including shipping and handling):

Front tip out windshield $1175.00
Rear Panel $ 425.00

Electric Wiper/Washer $ 415.00
So how much would they want for the whole cab kit?
I had a 2008 rhino and I had the Essex tilt safety glass windshield installed on it. I loved it. Very easy to install. I emailed them last week and have yet to hear back. But I would def recommend that windshield. I hope they make one for the viking.
