Thought I might put a thread up about what tools to take away with you when out camping and/or riding. The list of what to take will depend on how long you are going for, how far away from civilisation you will be, and how many people are going. So here goes...

Bare Minimum Essentials
1/2" drive socket set
Ring spanner set
Screwdriver set
Tire plug kit
12V compressor
Bourbon!!! by BadMonkey

Helpful Additions
18v rattle gun
lump hammer
large multigrips
vice clamps
bag of rags
silver tape
cable ties
AZ Trail added
automotive cable
connectors
relays
fuses
length (30'?) of 1/2" rope for snatching

Anything else?

Great recommendations here guys. One thing not mentioned is a chainsaw or even just an axe. I can’t count how many times there’s been a tree down in the middle of the trail.

Monkey, you have a spare liver?

I've needed a chainsaw many times. Never had one when I needed it. Even in my truck.

Skrillz I know you like to killz but you cannot have my spare liver. I will need it. Besides, a chainsaw is not the right tool for removing a liver.

Well perhaps together, we can find a spare liver somewhere. You can never have too many.

I have a Dremel tool and a small cooler.

Blue Bull whats the story of the Yanmar? I see by your signature that you have one. I just saw one for sale on CL today and I’m like that’s a Viking in every way except the name on it. I did not know Yamaha made these for yanmar. Do you know the history of this with yanmar?

Yes they are rebranded Vikings. Made on the same assembly line by the same people. The three seater is a Yanmar Bull and the six seater is called a Yanmar Longhorn. They also have a diesel side by side but its not a Yamaha product as far as I can tell. The particular unit I have was a rental unit in Louisiana. I have a thread on the progress from when I got it until now (mostly).
