Door rattle??

I was riding in some chopped up cane fields this weekend and noticed how loud the rattle from my doors is. I dont think we looked at this issue yet. Anybody have any ideas. It seems that they leave the hook and latch with a little play for ease of use.

Haven't noticed any door rattle in mine, but I was told by the dealer to take it easy when closing the doors. Apparently they have had a couple come in with broken latches.
I think alot of people think you have to SLAM the doors, you dont, just hold the outside handle open, close the door all the way, hold it shut, release outside handle, and it latches fine. No need to slam it.
why would you slam such a small light door -__-
wow wth people are already breaking latches, that's crazy. Seems like it's due to how they're closing doors
I use silicone spray lube on the latch mechanism and striker, works great and does not attract dust and dirt. just a little spray after each wash does it....doors close like butter!!!
Good call on using that, i used to work at an automotive dealer and we would always apply that to the hinges of every vehicle we services, sure seemed like it helped.
I am not having any issues closing the door and I dont slam it shut. I am talking about when the door is fully closed it has some play in the latch mechanism. I can grab the door and shake it about a 1/4" back and forth. Is mine the only one that does this?
the mounting holes for the latch on the door are slotted, you may be able to adjust out the rattle....make sure the hinges and all door hardware is tight.
Have you played around with it much at all? It seems like one of those things where you need to figure out where the rattle is coming from and then you can fix it. I would assume its something to do with the latch or the hinges. Either something is loose or something things just aren't fitting together right. Either way, you need to figure out where the rattle is coming from / what is causing it.

Mine doesn't have any play at all in the latches when shut (apart from just the normal tiny bit) and definately don't rattle. Yours sound like they need adjusting as mentioned. Half the time I don't even shut mine, it gives you a nasty surprise though when you go around a sharp bend and the door flies open when your knee falls against it!

The dealer said it was mostly from slamming the door when the unit was at odd angles.

Sounds like the OP has loose or poorly adjusted latches.
I tightened them as much as I could. It helped alot but still has a little rattle. I can live with it.

makes sense.
i had a car that was like this, adjusting the latch did help a lot, maybe something to look into with these latches.
