Swapped the belt clutch on the end of the crankshaft with the clutch off of another Viking and the speed on the jack stands goes right up to 48! Can’t find an obvious difference between the two, tomorrow I will take both apart an figure out what is keeping the rollers in the clutch from going up to the top of the ramps.

Sliders on the cam plate could be dirty not letting the rollers get all the way to the end.

Use Tinkseal instead of ultramatic grease also

Replaced the outer 1/2 of the clutch and the center shaft, problem with speed is solved. Now I am trying to figure out why when you roll up to a stop, the motor quits and is hard to start. If you suddenly chop the throttle, the speedo goes straight to zero, If you touch the throttle, speedo comes back to the correct speed! I’m a little baffled as to what’s going on.
