My Yanmar Longhorn (Viking VI) has stock steel wheels with 26" tires staggered skinny front, wider rear. 90% of my use is gravel road, some chunky rocks, a little sand, and occasional runs a couple miles on pavement. I'll carry people, tools, coolers, etc. Speed over 25 will be rare. I think Terrabites are a good fit for my use, any other recommendations? I will be upgrading rims, pros and cons of 12 vs 14 in my usage? I don't plan a lift other than some spring spacers in the rear. Leaning to 27's. Same tires all around or 9's front 11 rear? Open to suggestions. While I might head down the road to the offroad park once or twice a year, i don't think I need beadlocks unless I just happen to choose that style.

In my mind, 14s with 27x11s all around would look good, 12s staggered may be best ride...

I have 26x12x12 rears and 11’s in the front. Use to have 27x9x12 all four corners. I liked the handling of the skinnies, but the floatation with wide tires is what I needed beings tracks are not in the budget.

For how you use it I think you would like the 27” on 14” wheels and same width all around. This setup will also give you extra ground clearance.

Anyone running 27 x 9 (or 27 x 10) on the front without a lift? I put spacers in the rear shocks to fix the sag a bit, but currently not planning a lift. Because a lift leads to bigger tires, which leads to clutch mods, etc. Not ready to run down that hole for my usage.

Sorry, meant 27 x 11. Typed faster than my brain...

Terrabites are said to run small. I have true-to-size 27x9-12 Kenda HTR square on mine. If you decide on Terrabites, I would personally go 28" as they will likely end up in the 27" range.

Ordered 28-10x14 Terrabites and beadlock rims. If the fronts rub, I can upgrade the A-arms to the superATV 1.5" forward offset ones...will post a pic when they get here...
Wheels and tires on, too dark for a picture. No rubbing so far, but only a quick trip down my dusty road. My lug nuts got lost somewhere in shipping, but a quick trip to Advance Auto Parts and problem solved.

Looks great. FYI some stole your front door 😉

Both front doors! Previous owner had them removed. I don't quite have the right tamper proof bit to get the screws unstuck from the doors to re-install. Amazon should deliver a solution for that today. They are different size than the bolts in the rear doors it seems.

This rusty former rental is coming back to life!

I think you made an excellent choice. Those wheels and tires look like the way it should come stock. Great looking rig for sure. I like how the Yanmar models actually have some color and graphics.

Wheels and tires are very nice. The only time my 28" rubbed is when I fully compressed the front suspension driving too fast through whoops. Then I heard a momentary buzzing sound from the tread rubbing on the firewall.

Thanks. I do look at what is going on now and then but didn't have much to say.

I was down a while with Covid and spent more than a week on the couch. The only good part was that I was able to watch ALL of the Marvel movies in timeline order.

Thanks. So far beyond the initial issues like the fuel pump being loose, both seat belts jamming and the rear diff oil check/fill bolt being too tight, no problems yet. I do plan to get an extended warranty next year though. I had a 4 year one with the Viking and even though I never needed it, I was glad to have it. I will note again that the suspension is nice and soft now after replacing the stock springs and opening everything up.

I posted a picture on your CF-moto thread that you started when you got it, of a CF-moto 1000 with a V-twin that looked like a utility SXS, it looked interesting but no doors.
