Thinking of buying a Viking that had a chassis makeover.

I'm thinking of buying a 2015 Yamaha Viking with 106hrs on the odometer. The guy runs it on the beach and keeps it by the ocean. He's selling it because he upgraded to a 1000cc. I was on board until he said he changed the chassis because it was rusty. He had a chassis built with stronger materials.... Just wanted to hear your guys input.

I would avoid that thing like the plague, rebuilt chassis because of rust means there is going to be a lot of unknown issues with that machine such as corrosion on electrical connections, excess wear on gaskets, seals and other parts of the machine such as a-arms braking system and who knows what else. Also the "rebuilt frame" made out of heavier material may be way more rigid and negatively effect ride quality. Think of it this way if the frame was that bad to need rebuilt that viking was technically totaled. Just my opinion but I wouldn't consider that machine at any $ amount

Garage
Other than the obvious which has already been pointed out; Looking at those pics, a few things jump out..

1.) The darned thing is gonna weigh a ton. Looks to be a lot of additional metal there. The Vike is no powerhouse as it is.. add a bunch of weight, and it'll be a real slug.

2.) I think I would have done a better job of welding than that when I was in Jr high school..... and back then I sucked as a welder! Dam... looks like a big bird came by and **** all over it!
