I just lifted my Viking Vi on 4" portals @30% reduction and went up to 14x10 wheels wrapped in 3010 Intimidators... first, speedometer off by 10mph (tires) and lost low end, but seriously lost top end, 35mph Max on open road... I've tried calling JBS, no answer today. What maker of clutch kits is reccomend and what setup? I mostly trail, sand, climb steep over rocky terrain with my three daughters, wife and 1yr old son riding shotgun in his carseat.. so nothing crazy, but it would be nice to power through a mud hole once in awhile. Really thought the portals would be key, but not so much... trying to get something ordered so I can install friday night and take it out for maiden voyage after the new lift/tires... HELP?!

Portals will lose your top end speed as they are a geared down device, but your bigger wheels will pick up some of that loss, I'm not doing the math to work it out! Your speedo will be off due to the portals and wheel size, so if you'd added 30% portals and kept the standard wheels you would be moving along the road at 30% less speed for the same revs? but your bigger wheels will negate some of that effect. But with the loss of top end you should gain bottom end from the portals, and you should have good rock crawling, so are you saying that you've lost that too? I think any brand sheave mod for more bottom end would help you plus a slugged clutch seems to be common (I don't have either).

The top end I was prepared to lose, just not as much lol... the low end seems/feel stock. I was expecting more ass at the low end than before.
