Polaris Airless Tires are now on sale

Accoridng to Polaris, the TerrainArmor tires can take a direct hit from a .50-calibur round and still drive 350 miles. They can also last 1,000 miles after running over a railroad spike. The tires are less wasteful because only the outer tread needs to be replaced. They also offer a more comfortable ride and reduce noise.

Whats so bad about Polaris?

I think these are a great option, might prove to be better than traditional tires.

Polaris did not dev the tires, they bought a company who was developing them. Resilient Technologies, a Wisconsin startup Polaris acquired last year

Whats so wrong with Polaris, dont get me started..but here it goes

I had always had Yamahas, never let me down, back in 2010, i wanted a side x side, but the Rhino, was to small, so i tried Polaris for the first time, got a 2010 Ranger 500 off the showroom floor. Go to test it on the lot, and it dies, salesman says, oh..its just been sitting for awhile...And it dies ramdomly at ilde up til the time i sold it. Between 2 dealers it took in close to 10 times, and neither could find or fix the issue, and Polaris didnt want to help a first time customer any get there machine fixed. So needless to say, I dont care for Polaris a bit. I like the looks of there stuff, and maybe i got a lemon, but it was enought for me to NEVER get anything else made by them.

I don't think that you can buy the tires by themselves right now Polaris is selling them with this war machine of a ATV for around $15,000. Perfect if you are planning on driving across a field of nails, or your parking spot is in the middle of a shooting range.

There are benefits to the tires though. If they reduce in price they could even make their way to actual cars. I mean tires that don't need air and won't pop does sound like a nice invention.
