Cage Chop plus caging Rear out(Bed Delete)

Well last night I started on my bed delete and chopping about 5 inches from the cage. I have a bunch of 1.75 inch Tubing on the way from summit racing so I can Cage out the back half of the viking. I have no need for the bed on it so its going to get scraped most likely. So far I have the bed removed and i have my roof loosened up so I can make some cuts on the stock cage. I do plan to also add more bracing to the stock cage as well.

So far here is where its at. I keep adding pics as I get it moving.

Some pics are just what needs to be unbolted to get the bed off if you've never done it before. Its cake to do.

Here is what im shooting for when it comes to caging out the back just to give you an Idea of where its headed.

Chopping my cage is on the "to do list' for sure! Not as much as you,but maybe a 3"?? Anyway, have you thought about keeping the bed sides and angling inward at the rear? Kind of like the rock crawlers do? Just food for thought. There is a rhino build on the HR forum where the guy is building something like this, I'll see if I can find the link. Maybe you can get some ideas from it. Look forward to watching this!!!

I totally understand the cage chop but can't figure out why you would remove the bed. Is it just to save weight? It it for style?

Honestly most the weight will probably get added back in tubing. more for style and adding more safety to the cage in case of a rollover. I dont use the bed for anything on it except to hold a small cooler which I will make a plat form for it to sit on anyway.

That's because Polaris owners figure their rides are screwed up anyway and don't mind taking the risk that they will 'eff it up.

Yeah you dont see much for the viking when it comes to custom stuff. So I figured I like the look and I'm always willing to chop perfectly good stuff for the sake of fun!
