What oil to buy?

Hey men....I live no where close to a Yamaha service/parts dealer so what oil is acceptable that I can buy from Napa. Will a synthetic work. I live in snow country with very cold winter temps. Thanks for your help.

I run valvoline 4-stroke. Sell at most parts stores. They make in synthetic also. Jaso-ma rated too!

just so you know NAPA also makes a Gold series oil filter for the Viking to. I personally wouldn't run synthetic with the wet clucth but I know people that do. Just be sure no oil you go with is "energy conserving"

When I did my first oil change the dealer said to no way ever run full synthetic! Said he ruined his engine braking in his four wheeler because there isn't enough friction for it to grab.

I've always been told to run motorcycle oil in mine. Because of the problem with not having enough friction and the wet clutch will slip

james always recommends yamalube. and with over 12,000 miles on his rhino thats good enough proof for me. you can get yamalube on amazon for around 25 bucks a gallon

Any oil will do, synthetic or otherwise, as long as it doesn't have "friction modifiers" in it, they will make your wet clutch slip.
